Capital joy for KJS runner

Year 12 athlete Millie Howard was selected to compete in the London Mini Marathon, the junior event held just before the big race.

The mini marathon covers the last three miles of the iconic London Marathon course, including the finishing straight down the Mall. Millie was called up to represent Yorkshire & Humberside, in a field made up of English county athletes and others from Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and all the London boroughs.

Running in a line-up of 250 young athletes Millie ran a superb race to finish 11th, within a minute of the winning girl.

A great achievement and a fabulous experience for Millie, something she can look back on with pride for many years to come.
