Cycling at the Olympic Park

On the 29th to 30th June, 55 lucky students and teachers went down to the Olympic Park in London to take part in an experience of a lifetime. We took part in sessions in all four disciplines of cycling: track, road, mountain and BMX.

These sessions took place in the newly renovated Lee Valley VeloPark. This consists of the 2012 Olympic velodrome and BMX course. Also, there is a brand new road cycling track and new mountain bike trails.

After the first day of cycling, we went for a meal in Pizza Express and went for a walk around the Olympic Park.

Everyone on the trip had a great time and we would like to say a massive thank you to the people of Lee Valley VeloPark who provided us with an amazing opportunity and an experience to remember.

Matthew Rochester, Year 8 Sports Council Representative
