Fun Run draws the crowds

The Fun Run and Gala pulled in hundreds of people, with visitors young and old flocking to school to enjoy the races and entertainment.

While families enjoyed the fun on the fields the serious runners tackled a muddy 7-mile trail course, followed later by runners of all ages, many raising money for local causes, in the 2.5mile fun run.

The attractions, many of them new this year, were a big hit, with Ben Slinger´s trials bike display shows very popular, along with the Human Hamster balls and Bodyzorbs and the climbing wall and cave system. Stockeld Park´s Space Hopper races got children - and parents - doing some seriously competitive bouncing! And the KJS catering staff on the barbecue kept visitors well fed and queueing up for seconds.

And with the town gearing up for cycling excitement Le Tour Knaresborough had a great day spreading the word about the forthcoming events and selling lots of yellow T- shirts!

We would like to thank all the volunteers, without whom this great community event would not be possible, including John Bradd (on PA), and local groups Knaresborough Striders, Knaresborough Lions and Rotary Club and Knaresborough Celtic. Thanks also to sponsors Piccadilly Motors, Lidl and Piranha.
