GCSE students celebrate success

The school is delighted to report that it has achieved its second strongest GCSE performance ever, with 71% of students gaining five or more A* to C grades including English and maths.

Top performances saw a number of students achieving 12 or more full GCSE grades at A* and A: Jack Barthorpe, Harry Brown, Chloe Goodall, Georgia Greenwood, Beaumont Hill-Smith, Millie Howard, Kym Kestell, Alice MacCormack, Megan Pollard and William Urukalo.

Headteacher Carl Sugden said: ´I am delighted that the hard work and effort of staff and students has led to another great set of GCSE results. This is my 10th year as a headteacher and the importance of results day, for the future of the students, never diminishes. We approach the exams each year with a real focus on high achievement and it can be a long wait until August for both students and teachers. It is the second time that our headline figure has been above 70% and it shows that we have consistency in our results despite all the changes in the exam system.´
