Millie Howard, a sixth form student at King James’s school, had the honour of representing Great Britain juniors at a recent athletics event. Millie was to represent the GB under 20’s team against senior teams from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Loughborough students at an international invitational event. The event took place at Loughborough University and featured many senior international performers, many hoping to be on the plane for Rio this summer.
Millie competed in the 800m and ran well against her senior rivals, managing to finish in a personal best time of 2:06.6 (2minutes 6seconds). Millie then went on to act as pacemaker for the women’s 1500m elite race. Overall it proved to be a wonderful day and great to see a KJS student in GB colours.
