KJS Triumphs at Rotary Technology Tournament

Three teams, one from each Key Stage, represented KJS at the annual Rotary Technology Tournament.  This tournament is against all the other local secondary schools in the area and is held at St. Aidan´s School. The competition involves students working in a team of four to solve a challenge in a day. The challenge this year was to build a bridge with limited resources. Depending on the age of the students, the challenge also incorporated increasing demands.

All  three teams were a credit to KJS and worked extremely hard on their design and build. The foundation team of Sam Wilson, Ciaran Grey, George Tee and Jamie Munro were unlucky not to win a prize but must have been very close as their design worked perfectly during the test. The foundation team of Ellie Bygrave, Abby Langley, Lucienne Hill-Smith and Katie James did brilliantly and won the Silver award in their Key Stage. However the sixth form team of Abby Hatch, Luke Tremble, Max Bridge and Tom Butler were awesome and won their section and were awarded the Gold prize.

Well done to all the students involved!
