Leeds United Academy players put Year 7 footballers through their paces

Following their recent game at Elland Road in the FA Youth Cup against Manchester City, The Leeds United Academy players were at King James´s coaching our Year 7 footballers. This was a first for the school and hopefully the start of a partnership between KJS and the Leeds United Academy that will benefit our young, aspiring footballers for years to come. The Leeds players spent two afternoons coaching boys and girls from Year 7, working on their ball skills, fitness, shooting and match play. The three week coaching programme culminated in a visit to Thorp Arch, the home of Leeds United first team and highly respected Academy, which has produced such players as James Milner, Fabian Delph and, more recently, Sam Byram and Lewis Cook. Our Year 7 footballers were very excited to be invited to take part in a mini tournament on the pitches where the current first team train. During the whole three week programme it was lovely to see the smiles on the faces of the young players and coaches, who spoke very highly of the positive attitudes, impeccable behaviour and talent of the King James´s pupils. Once again, we are very proud of our Year 7 students, who are marching on together!
