Murder, mystery, mayhem, books!

Our annual KJS literary festival, Fully Booked, promises a packed programme of events around a murder mystery theme.

The festival, organised by the Library team, has something for everyone, with special activities for all year groups with input from a wide range of people, from visiting speakers to teaching and learning support staff and even the catering team.

Special guests include motivational speaker Tim Milner, presenting his ‘not-so-secret-guide-to-success’, Ian Mills focusing on crime and punishment and the justice system at home and abroad, and author  Malcolm Rose, delivering interactive talks on crime-writing and forensic science.

The maths department will be looking into Sherlock’s code-breaking technique, the art department will be solving Rebus puzzles, geographers delving into how to map crime, the English teachers are leading a readathon and mystery writer sessions and science will be attempting KJS crime-solving.

Add to that quizzes on murder and mayhem and other library events, and murder mystery lunches tempting students with chilli con carnage and death by chocolate and you have a menu with something for everyone!

And look out around school for some interesting displays for the ‘Dress Your Door’ competition, decorating classroom doors with a literary theme or character.
