King James´s was buzzing with excitement as it welcomed families to its annual Open Evening on Thursday 9th October.
Parents and their children spent several hours looking round the different departments, viewing the facilities and meeting staff and students. Hands-on activities going on throughout the school meant there was something for everyone - maths challenges, musical performances, sporting activities, word games, creative making... The science labs, where children and parents were able to try their hand at experiments, proved particularly popular. Visitors were impressed by displays of students’ artwork, photography and design, as well as the sporting, musical and dramatic prowess on show. Refreshments and samples of school meals were available throughout the evening in the school´s newly extended Food Court.
During the course of the evening, prospective parents and carers had the opportunity to meet with Miss Jefferson, the Learning Manager for Years 7 and 8, as well as listening to a presentation by Mr Sugden, Headteacher.
As ever, Open Evening was a great event reflecting the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere of King James´s School.
