Rock and Run draws the crowds

The new Rock & Run Gala was a great success, with crowds turning out to enjoy a real community fun day.

The event at King James’s School, a bigger and better version of the long-established Knaresborough Fun Run, featured the fun run, an elite sprint and assault course races, live music, stalls for local community groups and charities to boost their own fundraising, fairground rides, the Daleside real ale tent and lots of food!

Knaresborough and Harrogate MP Andrew Jones got the fun run started and then stayed to enjoy the afternoon and present prizes, while the town’s Mayor and Mayoress, Andrew and Christine Willoughby, set the trail runners off and selected fancy dress winners.

King James’s Headteacher Carl Sugden said: “The Rock & Run was a great community event and it was nice to see so many families having a great day out.”Business Manager Justin Waters added: “The success of the day was made possible thanks to the many volunteers, the amazing community support and sponsors including Piccadilly Motors, Academic Appointments and Skinny Design.”
