Yorkshire Triumph for KJS Pupils

At the recent Yorkshire athletics championships King James students Jack Brennan (Year 11) and Millie Howard (Year 13) walked away with championship titles. The championships took place over the weekend of 14 & 15th May and were held at the Dorothy Hyman stadium in Barnsley. Millie Howard ran in the U20 1500m and won comfortably in a time of 4:32. This added to the 800m title she won last year.

Jack had an amazing weekend. He ran in both the U17 800m and 1500m events, which meant running heats and final in the 800m. Jack finished second in the 800m running an English schools qualifying time of 1:57.8.

Jack then ran again on Sunday and went one better winning the 1500m and claiming the Yorkshire title in a time of 4m 05’s.

A fantastic achievement from both athletes and wonderful to see KJS pupils doing so well at the County championships.
