Next Steps Programme

The Next Steps Programme has been designed to prepare students for entry to the world of work or identify a vocation course that they may wish to study at College.

The course will include working towards a C grade in both Maths and English, alongside an ICT, Enterprise, Enrichment and Private Study programme.  One of the main areas of this course is that it will include two days work experience per week over the full academic year. Students will work with one employer to gain the skills and knowledge required to support entry onto an apprenticeship, if this is what they want to do. We will work with the employer to identify how best to support the student and although there is no qualification with the placement students will gain a competency certificate signed by the employer, a reference to support employment and the skills and confidence to move forward onto their chosen pathway.

Each application will be looked at for appropriateness to the course and availability of work placements. There are limited places on this course; no formal qualifications are required.

Further information and application form can be obtained from Lucy Hazelton, Careers Manager
